Week Zero has finished, and man did we have some good games!

Betting wise ya boy finished 2-4, but that Georgia Tech moneyline kept us up big still on the weekend. Here is what I saw from this Week 0 Action

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Weekend of the DAWG

Every dog covered the spread in this weekend of action. We saw Montana State (favored by 14) win it with ten seconds to go while SMU (favored by 27.5) take the lead and win with just under 1:20 remaining. Hawaii scored 35 and gave up 14, so that cover was never in doubt for Delaware State.

Great Saturday be an underdog ATS.

Shaky start to the season for FSU

On offense, DJ Uiagalelei seemed to miss a lot of spots. He had Benson on the sideline for a TD he threw out of bounds that I clearly remember (may have bet Benson to score). He had a lot of receivers he seemed to be missing spots on, even in completing the pass. While it’s only game one and no need to overreact, there were a few more missed passes than I would have liked to see if I was a Seminole fan.

As for the Seminole defensive line, they got moved around like it was a mobile home in an earthquake. There seemed to be little trust for the guy next to them mixed in with some chaos, and that led to them just getting pushed out of the play multiple times at every position. This was especially bad on run plays, where it felt like more often than not the Georgia Tech boys dictated who was going where. The Passing downs were good, but the rush game had some bad moments.

There is still time for the FSU squad, but you can tell the chemistry is a bit off. This makes sense. Either way, FSU starts an uphill battle with a 0-1 beginning to the season.

Other takeaways

  • A slow start offensively for SMU could be concerning. Preston Stone played a bit better towards the end, but the QB situation will be one to keep your eye on
  • New Mexico blowing a 17 point lead is a sad sight to see. Hopefully this team will be competitive this season, but blowing that early lead could kill the confidence
  • Great win for Montana State in Week Zero!
  • Hawaii winning and not covering it is not too shocking. They won huge and have to play UCLA next week. They did all they needed too except fill us -39.5 bettors pockets

Week Zero was a fun welcome back to football. Next week looks to be even more fun as everyone else in the college ranks join in on the fun.
