We are going to supersize this article like an old McDonald’s meal. I’ll be giving out both my bowl game bets along with my NFL Week 16 bets. It’s gonna be a jam packed weekend of football, so why not put it all into one?
Check out the latest episodes of the JCPod for my full breakdowns. All odds are a mix/the best number from FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.
College Football
Troy -7 (-110)
Duke will be without Riley Leonard and Mike Elko. With that being said, I will be taking Troy. Troy had a great end to the season with a Conference Championship. I look for them to add to the jewelry with a bowl game win.
Air Force +2.5 (-110)
This feels like it’s a pick between who is my favorite child. James Madison has been amazing all year to me, while Air Force did really well until the last 3 to 4 games. In this matchup, James Madison will be without their head coach due to him moving on to coach the Indiana Hoosiers. I feel as if this bowl might mean slightly more to Air Force now, as they kept everyone and are building towards something else. The name of this bowl is also the Armed Forces Bowl, so I would be silly to not take Air Force here.
Northwestern +6.5 (-110)
Northwestern has been fighting adversity all year. They started off the season with the horrendous scandal, and then ended the season with big wins to get them bowl eligible. Northwestern seems to have turned new leaf over, and they seem to be building towards hopefully a better future. Utah had a really down season due to injuries, and this game feels as if it may now mean as much to them as Northwestern. I think NW is liable to win, but I’ll take the points to be safe.
NFL Straights
Bengals -2.5 (-120)
The Steelers season seems to be in shambles, and now there’s even a question about what is going on with their culture. Meanwhile, Jake Browning has taken over since Joe Burrow got injured and has been playing really well. The Bengals have now found themselves in the playoff picture even without Joe Burrow, and they might be even able to flirt with a wildcard berth. This is the Steelers home game and an AFC North battle so I am a little nervous, but I feel as if the Bengals will be able to handle business. Give me the Bengals to go into the Steelers home field and get another W over Mason Rudolph and company, continuing that rise in the wildcard.
Colts moneyline (+120)
The Colts are playing the Falcons, and this makes me really happy at how this line is. I have no idea how the line can be this low after watching what we saw the Falcons do against the Panthers. I understand Heinicke is starting, but it just seems as if the Falcons have lost a little bit of juice as the season has been going on. Meanwhile, the Colts are in a deep fight for not only a wildcard spot, they have a real shot at winning the division if they are able to win out. The Colts are the second hottest team (5-1) in their last six games behind the 49ers, who have won all six. Give me the Colts to win another one here, and go into Atlanta and get the dub.
Seahawks -3 (-125)
Tennessee is at home so this makes me a bit nervous, but they are also dealing with injury. Will Levis is dealing with a high ankle sprain, and this season has not been a Titans season of normal. Derrick Henry’s production last week told me all I needed to know about this Titan team this season. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are coming off a huge win against the Eagles and the Seahawks still have a chance to make the wildcard. This game means a lot more to them than the Titans. I look for the Seahawks to win by over a touchdown.
Buccaneers moneyline (-120)
I am very nervous about this bet, and this is probably the most nervous one of the day. However, I feel as if I’ve liked more what I’ve seen from the Bucs lately than the Jaguars. The Jaguars struggle against really really good teams, so this will be a good test for the Buccaneers. If the Buccaneers are able to handle business, this will be good momentum for them to ride heading into hopefully a wildcard spot if they do not win the division. Both the Buccaneers and the Jaguars are fighting for a division spot, and this loss would be a huge issue for them down the season. Both of these teams need to win so this looks to be an exciting game, maybe even the best of the Week 16 slate.
Dolphins moneyline (-130)
The Cowboys are on the road, so you know where I will be headed. They got destroyed by the run last week against the Bills, and I feel as if Miami Dolphins run schemes are even better. Raheem Mostert could potentially have a really big day here, assuming that the Cowboys do not stop the run. If the Dolphins are able to establish the run, I like what they’ll be able to do here. Tyreek Hill also looks to be back, so he just adds another weapon.
NFL Props
CeeDee Lamb anytime TD (-125)
CeeDee continues his NBA Jam. In another tough game against the Miami Dolphins, I look for him to find the endzone again here in Week 16.
Courtland Sutton anytime TD (+150)
Courtland Sutton has been a scoring machine this year. It seems like every game I turn on, I see this guy scoring yet another touchdown. Due to that, I will probably be taking him to score in every game to end the year. He scored every game except for four games.
Joe Mixon anytime TD (+105)
Joe Mixon is one away from setting a franchise record for scoring touchdowns. He has gotten one touchdown each of the last two weeks, so I look for him to finish the job here and get one more to beat the record here in Week 16.
Raheem Mostert anytime TD (-115)
Raheem Mostert has been a scoring machine for the Dolphins and is even on an NBA jam. He continues to score touchdowns, so I’m gonna be taking him to score yet another one here. Watching what the Cowboys did with the run last week, Mostert may even be liable to score 2 touchdowns for the third week in a row in Week 16.
Tyreek Hill anytime TD (-115) & over 86.5 receiving (-114)
Tyreek Hill is on a mission to get 2000 yards, so I will be taking him on his over and score a touchdown most likely for the rest of the season.
Rashee rice over 6.5 receptions (-102)
Rashee Rice continues to be Mahomes favorite target as of late, and has been racking in receptions. He’s on a streak of four in a row with 7+ receptions, so I’ll be taking it here again in Week 16.
NBA Jams for Week 16
- CeeDee Lamb anytime TD (6x in a row)
- Raheem Mostert anytime TD (4x in a row)
