College Football Week Nine is upon us, and we have some truly fun games. As we tip over the halfway point of the season, we are about two weeks away from our first look at the CFP. There is so much on the line, and teams will be fighting for their playoff life.
With an exciting week ahead, here are my plays for the College Football Week Nine slate.

Straights
Friday
Boise State -3.5 (-120)
Boise has been good this season, and they will have a tough matchup in this one. This is the toughest run defense Boise has played since Oregon, and I believe UNLV will be able to put up some points. Regardless, between a solid offensive game plan and Ashton Jeanty, I like for Boise State to prevail on the road.
Saturday
Indiana -6.5 (-105)
No Kurtis Rourke does worry me a bit. However, Indiana has proven that they will kick into another gear while running away with it. I only expect about two or three games to give them trouble the rest of their schedule at this point, this not being one of them. With College Gameday coming to town, I look for Indiana to get on a roll in this game and run away with it.
Colorado -5.5 (-110)
This feels as if this number is a little bit too low. Facing a tough Cincinnati team, I have Colorado as close to eight or ten point favorites. I’ll look for the weapons and offense to be too much to handle for Cincinnati (I will say I do really enjoy their QB) , especially if Colorado is able to keep the run game going like they have the last few weeks. Colorado is one win away from bowl eligibility and I expect them to try to earn it this game.
With a bigger prize in sight as well, Colorado for sure will be ready to play in this game.
Memphis -17.5 (-110)
Both Army and Navy have beat Charlotte by huge numbers this season. I look for Memphis to do just about the same here and win this game by about 20-24 points.
East Carolina -6.5 (-110)
East Carolina has fired their coach in what is supposed to be a cupcake portion of their schedule. Looking into this, it makes me feel as if they tried to fire their coach before he got on the run and saved his job.
Now having a chance to start a new, I look for ECU to have a big game this weekend and win by around double digits.
BYU +2.5 (-110)
This is gonna be a tough game, but I like the idea of getting BYU on the money line at plus money. While UCF has played two tough games recently, they have put up some points. BYU survived a scare last week, so I’m assuming they will be a bit more ready this game.
I will not be shocked if this loses, it may even be a little bit happy, as it will be better for our Colorado Big 12 futures.
Regardless, BYU’s is having a really good season and I see them winning this game.
Illinois +21.5 (-104)
In this game, I just simply look for Illinois to keep a close against Oregon. Illinois does play a similar scheme to what Purdue played defensively, so hopefully they will have some variations to mess up Dylan Gabriel. I do not think Illinois will be able to win this game, but at least they’ll be able to keep it within two to three scores.
Vanderbilt +18.5 (-110)
Similar to Illinois, I just hope that Vanderbilt is able to keep this close. Texas has somewhat struggled on offense recently, but their defense has been playing pretty well. Coming off a tough loss against Georgia, Texas will for sure be hungry and looking to bounce back. I’ll look for the home dog Commodore’s to be able to cover and keep this game somewhat close.
Maryland +5.5 (-115)
Maryland is coming off a huge win against USC last weekend. I will be taking them the ride that wave of momentum, and will look for them to keep this within a field goal. This is a Big Ten game, so I like my chances of this being close game.
Minnesota is coming off a bye, so that does have me a bit nervous. However, I still think Maryland can put up enough points to keep this within a field goal game, maybe even steal it outright.
Props
LaJohntay Webster anytime touchdown (+100)
Ty Son Lawton anytime touchdown (-145)
Justice Ellison anytime touchdown (-155)
Isaiah Augustave over 39.5 rush yards (-114)
Xavier Restrepo over 90.5 receiving yards
Xavier Restrepo anytime touchdown (-155)
Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day
Iowa broke our hearts last week, and we lost by a single leg. This week? We get on the board for the first time this year. We are going to get a bit nasty for this one, and look for a few guys to get into the end zone.
I was able to get odds of +1137:
- Jeremiyah love anytime touchdown (-190)
- Justice Haynes anytime touchdown (+145)
- Ty Son Lawton anytime touchdown (-145)
- LaJohntay Webster anytime touchdown (+100)
