The Denver Broncos are signing running back J.K. Dobbins to a one-year worth $5.25-million deal, sources told Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. Dobbins went on a visit to the Broncos last week, as it seems like that visit went well.
He was a Comeback Player of the Year finalist in 2024 after rushing for 905 yards and nine touchdowns with the Los Angeles Chargers in 13 contests.
The 26-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2020 draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Dobbins has battled multiple serious injuries since he has entered the league. He tore his ACL during the 2021 preseason, and then followed that up by tearing his Achilles in the 2023 season opener. Last season was the first time he’s played double-digit games since his rookie season.
Dobbins will join a Broncos running back room that includes rookie RJ Harvey, Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime, and Tyler Badie. Sean Payton loves to use his running backs, so it will be interesting to see how touches are distributed.
