Indiana basketball is off to a hot start, not only on the season, also in last night’s game against Wright State. Indiana opened up the scoring, and went into the half with 54 points and a 5 point lead.
Both teams scoring 103 combine points in a half is as exciting as it gets. Dare I say a hot start.
Seven players in this game scored double digits, three of them scoring over 20 points. Four players for Indiana and three for Wright State.
Shooting % was hot for both teams as well, 41.2% for Wright State and an astounding 54% for Indiana. Indiana oddly did this while shooting 18.8% from behind the arc.
Indiana Basketball off to a Hot Start
The Hoosiers are now 3-0 and show promise on the offensive side of the ball. Defense is there when they want it to be, and I am sure Mike Woodson knows that January will be a rough transition without putting defense at the forefront.
Last night to cap off a great three game start to the season for Indiana, four players scored double digits.
Led by a huge double-double from Kel’el Ware, 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Malik Reneau tallied 16 points and came two boards shy of a double-double himself with 8 rebounds to go along with 5 assist.
Trey Galloway got the offense rolling with 6 assist and 15 points of his own. Mackenzie Mgbako scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
This season will be a fun one for the Hoosiers once Big10 action starts. Indiana is a sneaky pick to be top 3, right up there with Purdue. At their best, so far, so good.
College basketball is back and this is what it is all about.
