Huge loss for the Falcons, as they lose one of the best defensive lineman in the game. Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in last Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans, sources told Adam Schefter.

Garrett exited the Week 8 matchup after being injured on Tennessee’s opening drive. The 30 year-old is the key cog of Atlanta’s defensive front and has had 1.5 sacks and 23 total tackles in eight games this season.

Jarrett’s best season came in 2019 when he produced a career high 7.5 sacks to earn Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. He was also named a Pro Bowler in 2020.

The vet hasn’t missed a game in the previous four seasons.

With Jarrett out, Calais Campbell will likely take on a larger role alongside David Onyemata. LaCale London and Ta’Quon Graham should also see more playing time moving forward.

The Falcons also bolstered their defensive line by acquiring Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Kentavius Street in a trade Monday. The 27-year-old has recorded 6.5 sacks over 60 career games. He made one start for the Eagles this season.
