The WNBA is geared to start back up tonight for the final stretch of the season. The WNBA took a break mid season to send their players to Paris to compete in the Olympics, where they would bring home Gold.

Tonight we get to get back into the swing of things, with a little over a month left in the season, what are some things to watch for?

Each team has around 15 games left, and there is still a lot of questions up in the air when it comes to who will make the playoffs. With every team mathematically having a chance to make a run for it.

WNBA Playoff Push

As of right now the last two teams into the playoffs if they started today are the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky. The Fever are 11-15 after having a slow start to the season. Rookie Caitlyn Clark is finding her footing in the league and has been a lot better the last month. While Rookie phenom Angel Reese has broken the double-double record streak and looking to keep the Sky in playoff position. The Sky are 10-14.

The Phoenix Mercury since Britney Griner has been back from a toe injury sidelining her for the first month have been a very good team. Sitting in the 6th seed spot holding a 13-12 record.

Then you have the teams at the bottom of the league looking to build some momentum. Three games out of contention, the Atlanta Dream desperately just want to find a way to get some wins. The Dream is 7-17 after ended the first half of the season on an 8 game losing streak.

Under the Dream are three 6 win teams, all of which has a roster than can get hot. Now it would take a lot, but mathematically these three 6 win teams are only 4.5 games back from the Sky, and 5 games back from the Fever.

Los Angeles Sparks, Washington Mystics, and the Dallas Wings are those three teams. The Sparks dealing with injuries and a lot of youth just has not been on the right side of a lot of close games. While the Mystics falling apart late in games situations has been their story this season, starting 0-12, they are currently 6-19. Then you have the Dallas Wings who have the most star power of the three starting with Arike Ogunbowale, who snagged the All-Star game MVP this season.

WNBA Top Five Teams

This is where the fun is, the top five teams in the league have been going at each other all season. The New York Liberty led by Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart have the best record sitting at 21-4. They ended the first half of the season 9-1 and on a 4 game winning streak. In the number two spot we have the Connecticut Sun led by Alyssa Thomas and veteran Dewanna Bonner. The Sun are 18-6 after starting the season 10-0.

At the number three spot is the Minnesota Lynx who are looking to get back on track with a fully healthy squad. Superstar Napheesa Collier missed a few games going into the break. The Lynx won the commissioners cup earlier in the season and sit at 17-8, also beating the Liberty twice.

The Seattle Storm sit at 17-8 as well and have been quietly hanging with the big dogs in the league all season. After a bumpy first two weeks, the Storm and their veteran core have turned it on and not looked back.

Then you have the reigning back to back champions in the Las Vegas Aces with MVP front runner A’ja Wilson leading the way. The Aces started off 6-6 this season before going on a 10-2 run over the last month.

However this season finishes, it will be entertaining and the playoffs, well as a fan I simply cannot wait for it. A lot of teams that can make a run this season.
