The Philadelphia Eagles reworked offensive tackle Lane Johnson’s contract, extending him through 2027 while also adding $8 million in salary and $30 million in guarantees over the next two seasons, his agent told Adam Schefter.
Johnson will now rack in $48 million over the next two years with $40 million guaranteed, Schefter adds. The Eagles confirmed Johnson’s one-year extension through 2027 but didn’t reveal financial terms. The 34-year-old had one season remaining on his previous deal.
A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro, Johnson has been the anchor of the Eagles’ offensive line since his rookie season in 2013. He’s been a full-time starter since being selected fourth overall, and has totalled 158 starts during his 12 year career.
Johnson has also two Super Bowl championships as a member of the Eagles, the most recent coming this last February. His play this year was a major factor in Philadelphia’s success on the ground last season, as the unit ranked second in the NFL in rushing yards per game.
