Duke and Michigan State played on Tuesday night as part of ESPN’s champions classic. As intense of a game as you will find this early in the season, Duke was just too much for Michigan State to handle.
After taking an 11 point lead into the half, they would secure that lead the entire second half. Every time the Spartans would go on a run to cut into the lead, the Blue Devils would simply go on a run of their own.
The game was as close as three points a few times late, however next time you looked up, Duke would be back to cruising with a 10 point lead.
Duke Slams Door on Michigan State
The free throw line was the difference maker in this one, with Duke making 24 out of 30 while Michigan State shot 7 for 12. A disparity worth 17 points alone.
The Spartans just could not get out of their own way, foul trouble sat Malik Hall for a long period of time. A key player only playing 26 minutes.
Hall still scored 18 points for Michigan State. Who were led by Tyson Walker scoring 22 points on a decent shooting night, 9-17 from the field.
Caleb Foster was the high point man for Duke with 18 points off the bench. While Kyle Filipowski is becoming Duke’s next guy to hate, scoring 15 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.
Two players for Duke also chipped in with 13 a piece, Mark Mitchell and Tyrese Proctor.
College Basketball is back and this is what it is all about.
