Seems like the injury to Dolphins running back De’Von Achane is a bit serious.

The Miami Dolphins are placing star rusher De’Von Achane on injured reserve due to a knee injury, head coach Mike McDaniel announced Wednesday. This is according to ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques. Achane suffered the injury in the team’s Week 5 win over the New York Giants, McDaniel revealed earlier this week.

The weird thing about the injury is McDaniel’s originally came out unsure of how bad it was. The 2023 third-round pick will be eligible to return in Week 11. He’s set to miss contests against the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs before Miami reaches its Week 10 bye.

This is a pretty big blow for the Dolphins. While they do get Jeff Wilson off IR and still do have Raheem Mostert, Achane has been a sensation. Mostert rushed for 460 yards and scored seven total touchdowns. He also recorded 100-plus yards in three straight games, including a 203-yard effort on the ground against the Denver Broncos in Week 3. He also has the second fastest speed reached for the Dolphins this season.

With Wilson coming off IR this week, Mostert will be in line for a good amount of carries. Look for Jeff Wilson and Salvon Ahmen to get involved as well.
