The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to a contract with former Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Mekhi Becton, the team announced.
It’s a two-year, $20-million pact, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network report.
Becton plans on playing guard, which isthe position he played last season. The former first-round pick moved from tackle to the interior in 2024 and enjoyed a breakout season in Philadelphia’s offensive system.
The 25-year-old began his career with the New York Jets but struggled with consistency at tackle. He made 30 starts with 28 coming at left tackle and two coming at right tackle as a member of the Jets.
Becton will be tasked with blocking for running back Najee Harris, who left the Pittsburgh Steelers to sign a one-year contract worth up to $9.5 million with the Chargers.
