The ACC is always one of the best basketball conferences in the sport and this season is no different. There are six teams in this conference that can get hot and rip a winning streak at any time.

Duke and UNC highlight this conference because of the past success. The past few seasons programs such as Miami, Virginia, Clemson, and Syracuse are reaching a level where they can truly compete.

ACC Conference: Record Predictions

Virginia (17-3)
UNC (15-5)
Duke (15-5)
Miami (13-7)
Clemson (13-7)
Syracuse (12-8)
Pittsburgh (11-9)
Georgia Tech (10-10)
Virginia Tech (9-11)
NC State (7-13)
Wake Forest (6-14)
Florida State (6-14)
Boston College (5-15)
Notre Dame (3-17)
Louisville (0-20)

Virginia is not only one of the best teams talent wise, they also have one of the easiest conference schedules this season. I have them starting off 9-0 before even coming close to losing a game. Of course projections are just educated estimates and anything can happen.

I have the Cavaliers’ taking home the regular season title this season in the ACC. Miami and Clemson will be competitive, while UNC and Duke will be great, yet fall short. Virginia only plays these teams once this season, late in February.

Teams like Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse will be the next level. These three teams nobody will want to face, especially not at their home gym.

ACC Conference Awards

Tony Bennett in my opinion will take home his 5th ACC coach of the year award. I got all my eggs in this Virginia basket this season.

Player of the year in this conference can go to a number of guys. Almost every team has a go to guy who can take home the honor. Armando Bacot for UNC, Kyle Filipowski for Duke, and Nijel Pack for Miami will be the three front runners.

Each one of these teams has a secondary star who could also take the award. Players like RJ Davis and Jeremy Roach are both playing at a high level.

ACC: How Many NCAAB Tournament Bids?

I am going to go 6 and a possible like a good spades hand. Virginia, Duke, UNC, Miami, Clemson are the five I think are automatic. After that I believe this conference has another 3 or so teams, where one of which could squeeze in.

Syracuse has the talent, yet are neither consistent or experienced. Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech are two teams on the rise. If not this season, I’d be willing to bet money they make it next season.
