Utah just won their closest game of the season against Wake Forest in a 77-70 victory. Their first real challenge of the year, and they passed it with flying colors.
Winning their first game 101-66, and their second game 82-53, it is safe to say this offense can score the ball with the best of them this season.
The Utes might be a sneaky team come February and March. They will be a tough out for both their conference regular season and tournament play.
Still to early to see March and what it might bring for this Utes program. However I would not be surprised to see them dancing on the bubble of a first four out team.
Utah Basketball Two Man Game
Rollie Worster and Branden Carlson have an excellent two man game that is the engine for this Utah offense.
Worster through their first three games is averaging 8 assist a game and running this offense smoothly thus far.
Branden Carlson is leading the way scoring the ball in the paint. Shooting 66.7% from the floor on the season and averaging 19.3 points per game. Carlson had a scoring outpour when they needed it most against Wake Forest scoring 31 points on a sharp 12-20 (4-7 from three) shooting.
Worster, his running mate chimed in with a poor man’s almost double-double. An impressive 9 points and 9 assist on only 5 shots.
College basketball is back and this is what it is all about.
Utah takes on Houston today, who arguably has the best defense in the nation.
