CBB Power Rankings 11/28/2023. The Red Beard Top 10.
This article is going to be exactly what it sounds like from the title. Every Tuesday I will release my top 10 college basketball teams in the country according to my power rankings.
Last year while UConn was never ranked number one nationally, I had them as the number team for stretches last season.
My rankings unlike the Ap and Coaches polls are based on two completely separate things. I focus more on gambling and the tournament. For example, the best record, or run does not phase me. The chemistry and rebounding will tell me more about how deep a team will go in March.
Which is what I focus this weekly power rankings on. How good are you against the spread? How deep do I think you can go in March?

- UConn
- Purdue
- Arizona
- Marquette
- Kansas
- Houston
- Kentucky
- Baylor
- Creighton
- Villanova / Colorado State
A lot of shake up after one week of basketball. We watched Marquette take down Kansas and then almost take down Purdue in back to back days proving they can play and beat anybody in the nation.
UConn is on a historic non conference run, setting a record with 24 straight double digit wins in non conference basketball. They are the team to beat right now. Nobody agreed with me having them number one at this time last season either…
Purdue can and possibly will be number one at some point in the season, I think number 2 right now is the perfect spot for them. Until UConn is knocked off they have to be my number 1 team the way they are playing.
Houston, Baylor, and Kentucky keep on keeping on as they say. All three teams look great to start the season, I am eager to see what happens with these programs.
Villanova might have had the best week of all teams in the nation, winning the Battle for Atlantis and the gauntlet that was that tournament.
Lastly, had to get Colorado State their flowers while I could, this team has covered every game, cha ching. Also took down a top ten school in Creighton and beat them by 20+ in the process. Put some respect on Colorado State.
