The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick.
Wicks signed a one-year, $12.5-million extension with Philly following the trade. The receiver had been in Green Bay since being selected in the fifth round of the 2023 draft. Before this move, Wicks was entering the final year of his rookie contract.
Last season, Wicks had in 30 receptions on 46 targets for 332 yards and two touchdowns. Philadelphia’s also brought in receivers Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Elijah Moore in the last month, along with Makai Lemon in the NFL Draft.
A.J. Brown, the Eagles’ leading receiver over the last four seasons, has been the subject of trade rumors for most of the offseason at this point. Brown’s contract becomes easier for Philly to move after June 1, so any potential trade would likely happen after that date, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This move of acquiring Wicks along with the Eagles drafting Makai Lemon make it seem very likely that AJ Brown is gone post June first. All indications as of this time are that he will be a Patriot.
