Jose Altuve has had, a special career, to say the least. The 2017 MVP and two time World Series champions with the Astros just keeps on getting better.
He has been one of the best hitters in baseball the last 7 seasons, recording 2,000+ hits over his career thus far. Altuve has shown up in the big moments, played through a cheating scandal, and done it all with the Houston Astros.
He also has done it all with his head held high. As the old folks say, he has done it the right way.
Jose Altuve: Cycle
Altuve went 4 for 6 last night, recording 4 runs, and recording 4 RBI’s on those 4 hits. The Astros as a team were rolling last night and recorded 18 hits as a whole.
Jose Altuve hit a double in the third inning, his second at bat of the game. In the fifth inning he stepped up to the plate and blooped a single. In the very next inning he hit a triple and recorded two RBI’s.
After popping out in the 7th inning, things looked bleak. As in he might not get another at bat to swing for the fences. However, with help of his team mates, Altuve stepped into the batters box one more time.
He stated “I was aware that I needed a homer, but I wasn’t really trying to change my whole approach”. (MLB.com Article-Brian McTaggart)
Houston Astros are in a tight division race right now, maybe this is a sign of good things to come. The lineup is starting to get in it’s groove again. As Altuve hits for the cycle and teammate Yordan Alvarez goes 4 for 4 on the night.
