College Football Playoff
College Football Playoffs

We have now reached the second round of the playoffs. The College Football Playoff Round Two games give us four games that are all within a double digit spread, and could bring some magic.

Here are my plays for round two of the College Football Playoffs.

Check out the latest episodes of the JCPod for my full breakdowns and analysis. All odds are a mix/the best number from FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM.

Straights

Miami (FL) vs Ohio State

Due to Ohio State being off for so long, I think that I lean the Hurricanes and the +9.5 points. Miami has a very good defensive front, and that pressure could cause Julian Sayin to have some issues. My only reason for staying away is the Ohio State defense on the other side. Ohio State has one of the best defensives in the country, and that defense could give Carson Beck along with the Hurricanes run game issues all game long.

I still think that Ohio State will win the game, I am just a bit concerned about them winning this game by the full spread.

Texas Tech vs Oregon

As much as I love Texas Tech, I think I have to take Oregon on the spread (Oregon -2.5). After Oregon gave up some points late last game, I feel as if Dan Lanning has been on the boys the last couple of days and getting them mentally ready for this game. Both of these defenses are really good in the front seven. My only issue is on the offensive side. Dante Moore has some times he has WTF plays, while Texas Tech can truly just get in a drought of scoring touchdowns on offense for long stretches. Even with those plays, I trust in Dante Moore way more than I do the Tech offense.

This could be a really close game, or Oregon could win it big. I am very excited for this matchup between these two teams, and am curious to see what Texas Tech can bring on offense.

OFFICIAL PLAY: Oregon -2.5 (-114) or if you want to be more safe, Oregon money line (-134)

Alabama vs Indiana

I belive I am going to ride the Hoosier train and take Indiana -6.5 (-132). I slightly lean the over (47.5 points at -122), but won’t be taking it. As of the writing of this article, rain along with other weather factors could become a huge part of the Rose Bowl. There is an 80% chance of rain throughout the game. If that holds up, I like Indiana’s run game way more than I like Alabama‘s. I have a feeling that this game will have both teams scoring around the 20s, and honestly won’t be shocked if Indiana doesn’t cover.

However, I do like for Indiana to win this game. I am a bit nervous about the spread, but the lack of the Alabama run game could help Indiana be able to pull away if Alabama is forced to keep passing.

OFFICIAL BET: Indiana -6.5 (-132)

Ole Miss vs Georgia

If I had to pick, I think I would take Georgia on the spread (-6.5 points). I’m a bit nervous about this Georgia offense, i will say. I have liked what I’ve seen from the Georgia defense, but the offense has been really so-so. A counter to this point would be the fact that Georgia scored eight times on eight possessions the last time these two teams met. For Ole Miss to keep up in this game, they most likely will have to score a lot of points. There could also be a bit of an emotional letdown from how much the Rebels left out on the field last game.

I like for Georgia to win this game, and I think they will win by about 8 to 10 points. I feel as if this game will be close to start, then Georgia will just be able to pull away as the game goes.

OFFICIAL BET : Georgia -6.5 (-104)

Bowl game bets

As for the final few games of the Bowl season, I like to:

Illinois +3.5 (-118)

Vanderbilt -5.5 (-105)

Texas -6.5 (-122)

Utah -14.5 (-102)

Navy -7.5 (+100)

Parnell’s Nasty Boy Parlay Play of the Day

I was able to get odds of +995:

  • Miami (FL) – Ohio State first half under 21.5 points (-132)
  • Oregon money line (-134)
  • Indiana – Alabama over 47.5 points (-122)
  • Georgia -6.5 (-104)
