Hunter Dickinson

Kansas Jayhawks and big man Hunter Dickinson have been dominating the news outlets this past week. Both for very different stories, both about the same university.
As Bill Self, Kansas’s head coach of men’s basketball, was going through a scandal he threw the light onto his newly acquired big man, Hunter Dickinson.
Self was quoted as saying that Dickinson was the best big man he has ever coached. Possibly true given the talent that Dickinson possesses.
Dickinson Dives Deeper
The very next day, Hunter himself was asked about all of the pressure that comes with playing at Kansas, him transferring, and being chosen as the preseason AP Poll’s number one team in the nation.
All very solid, normal, and understandable questions for a kid like Dickinson. I know for a fact that he is the biggest transfer to date in this new world of college sports, for basketball at least.
Also, going to Kansas to boot, they expect to win, every season. Not only is this possibly the best big man Self has coached, it could arguably be one of the best team rosters he has had also.
Dickinson did not shy away from any of the pressure. Not only that, he stuck his neck out and put it on the line.
Instead of one of the cliche answers most athlete’s give about being humble and hungry and not too worried about outside noise, he decided to add even more pressure to the pot.
He was quoted as saying, he like’s people knowing they are better than them.
Dickinson, both extremely skilled and also new to this whole world of preseason interviews and pressure. At Michigan he mostly just had to show up to practice around this time of the year.
Now being the center at Kansas, the way in which he transferred there referencing the amount of money he made, as well as being ranked number one.
One thing is for sure. Kansas will now have to back in up for the next 5 months with a target on their back.
