The Indiana Fever came out with a huge win against the Phoenix Mercury behind Caitlin Clark having a monster double-double. Clark scored 29 points on 50% shooting from the floor to go along with 10 assist and 5 rebounds.
Kelsey Mitchell also shot the ball 50% from the floor and had a huge 28 points in the victory. Mitchell has been a huge shot maker all season for the Fever.
Aliyah Boston has been the recipient of a lot of Clark’s assist. Boston has been the core of this team in the front court, they simply go as she goes. She scored 14 points and came one rebound shy of a double-double herself ending the game with 9.
Caitlin Clark Matches Career High
Clark matches her career high 29 points which she scored four games ago against Washington. Clark is finding her footing in this league and has been putting on high level performances since the middle of June.
In a post game interview when asked about the win Clark states, “We Didn’t Crumble” as she praised her teammates grit to finish the game strong.
Fever Look to Finish Season Strong
Clarke continued to speak on the win by stating she hopes this win “Sets the tone” for the rest of the season. The playoffs are looming and the Indiana Fever are in a good position and focused.
The Fever are in the playoffs if the season ended today holding the 7th seed and now two games behind the Mercury.
This trio of Clark, Boston, and Mitchell can not only compete with any team in the playoffs, but they might be a problem.
