The Colts will be without their starting quarterback for a while it looks like.  Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is set to miss at least a month after receiving an initial diagnosis of a Grade 3 joint sprain, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Richardson underwent more MRI tests, but we are waiting to hear more. He will also seek a second opinion from renowned shoulder specialist Dr. Keith Meister, sources told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Monday that Richardson will miss “some time” with the injury. The team is still evaluating whether he’ll go on injured reserve, which requires a minimum four-game absence. Richardson is already announced as our for week 6. That means the Colts will be starting Gardner Minshew.

Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in the lastest draft, has shown off his dynamic playmaking abilities to start his NFL career. He’s racked up 577 passing yards and three touchdowns against one interception. He also has added 136 yards and four scores on the ground. His biggest issue is his health, as he only has finished one full game he has started. The explosive and special plays are there, but he has just been hurt.

Meanwhile, the veteran Gardner Minshew has performed well in relief of Richardson, completing 68.7% of his passes for 553 yards and two touchdowns.

Indianapolis is scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and Carolina Panthers over the next month. They seem to be in no hurry to bring Richardson back with him being the future, so look to see a lot of Minshew mania in his absence.
